Thanks, blogger

I've stuck with Blogger for the entire time I've been blogging thus far...almost 10 years now! I've resisted switching because a) I hate change and b) it was just so freaking easy to use Blogger.

But now those mofos have decided to axe FTP support. And to that I say OH NO YOU DI'INT but unfortunately they did and to that I say FUCK YOU MOTHERFUCKERS I guess there's nothing I can really do at this point but move on over to WordPress.

I have until March, so things won't change right away. I guess I'm just glad that I found out about this before I actually did my new layout. Procrastination works!

By special request

So I've been both busy and faux-busy lately. There are a bunch of little side-projects that I need and/or want to do that I haven't gotten around to yet/need to finish up. One of which is my mom's birthday present that was supposed to be her Christmas present except I messed something up so I had to get her something else.

---

I'm starting to itch for some new photo equipment. I think my lens collection is sufficient (for now, anyway) but I'm starting to dream of lighting equipment. Specifically, two continuous light heads/stands and a couple of sets of umbrellas (shoot through, silver/white reflectors).

---

Warning to those who are squeamish: don't scroll down because there be a dead pigeon down there!

So remember how I said something about a dead pigeon in the post about the bar crawl? Yeah, that.

Blip

I think I have a pretty lame-ass layout update (very different from a very lame ass-layout update esp since I don't think there is such a thing as a lame ass-layout) coming up soon. Whipped up something simple this weekend. Need to slice it up and change my template. Time to incorporate some PHP for the first time evAr.

Little slow on the uptake yes I am.

Photography

I created a photography blog some months ago but haven't done much with it. I finally updated it with some photos from my first "shoot" which was really just Sara and Damon just being very generous with their time and indulging my whims :) Thanks you guys!

Click here for the blog. The layout is both shoddy and temporary, but it works for now!

Birthday crawl (HAPPY 27th LEENERS)

I was still vaguely cranky on the day after the blender incident (see previous post) but not quite as despondent, so I finished off the half-full bottle of wine I had in the fridge and had a 1/2" of whiskey to follow it up. I don't like drinking when I'm really really sad (when I'm really really angry it's okay though) because I think I end up feeling worse and I don't ever really feel like drinking when I'm sad anyway, which is probably good. Anyway, I went to bed a teensy bit drunk that night and the next morning I felt kind of awful physically but my mood had inexplicably improved tenfold. Just in time for the weekend (woo!)

VV had a small food/dvd/game get-together for the Korean on Saturday afternoon. I was only able to attend long enough to sit through the movie (recommended!) and scarf down too much pizza and mac and cheese because I was starving after my workout and possibly an insufficient number of carbs in the previous 24 hours. Also, I did a little bit of clothes shopping (thank you for the gift card April <3) at Anthropologie between the gym and some other errands. I haven't bought any new clothes or shoes (aside from my Oktoberfest costume which totally doesn't count) since my Japan trip in August so yeah AWESOME.

Later that day I drove out to the LA area for a birthday dinner/bar crawl. It was full of randomness (cheesy self-made shirts, tiaras, dead pigeon, running into high school friends of birthday girl's bf, snuggie pictures) and fun. Requisite random assortment of photos ahead! Btw, it was dark and we were moving a lot so a lot of the photos are freakishly grainy.

I got back at around 5 in the morning and was greeted by VV clamoring down the stairs to give me a hug. He told me he woke up not too long before I got in and couldn't get back to sleep when he saw I wasn't home yet :(

Still haven't caught up on my sleep yet. Need to go to bed early tonight!

Is there a light at the end of this tunnel?

Work has been freakishly stressful lately. It's kind of getting to the point where the first thing I want to do in the morning when I wake up is shoot myself in the face because maybe I'll be able to legitimately call in sick and maybe even take some time off guilt-free. Also I seem to be bouncing between being unable to sleep and being unable to stay awake. It's been kind of a shitty week and to top things off I BROKE A FUCKING BLENDER.

Seriously. And it gets worse.

Wanna know how I broke it? I somehow left a fucking spoon inside of it. WHAT THE FUCK. Anyway, the few seconds it took for me to register what was happening and the few seconds it took me to turn it off was enough for the spoon to crack the blender and send shards of glass flying everywhere. I miraculously didn't get cut (THANK GOODNESS) and after it was all over I just sat in the corner of the kitchen and cried which totally seems overdramatic but having something like this happen (consequences of my own stupidity ugh) on top of the awful day I'd already had was like somebody just vomited on my shit sundae of a day. YUM.

Anyway, VV vacuumed and wiped down the floor and after I stopped crying and my hands stopped shaking I cleaned up the counter and washed all the dishes. I didn't feel much like cooking anymore so I comforted myself with two slices of peanut butter toast drizzled with honey.

---

I took these photos a couple of days ago. The bed usually isn't made, but I straightened it out for the photos. The stuffed pig is a souvenir from our trip to Japan last August.

Oh, and I totally made a spreadsheet with a list of all my shoes and clothes (well, the stuff I have at VV's anyway)! I'm going to try and get through as many items as possible. We shall see how that goes!
