Sar is staying local. I'm so happy.

I like the Get ur Freak On remix...the one with Nelly Furtado...but it's like it doesn't exist or something. I've only heard it once. I think it's supposed to be on the Tomb Raider soundtrack though. That's not coming out until...um...a long time from now. Ack.

Note to all you SHS alumni: Okay I didn't tell you that there was a 30th anniversary concert today, but that's okay because there's another one tomorrow. Seven-thirty in the big gym. EAI will be there too.
        The crushmaster will die.

I really want some good california rolls right now...with lots of avocado and no wasabi. And soy sauce. Yum.

Time for a nice long entry...so get comfortable...or leave.
So yes, I did go to San Diego this weekend. It was all good, for me at least. We went to Rancho Bernardo to go listen to their groups and stuff (they're very good...verrrry good) and went to go see Forever Plaid. Interesting. Oh yeah, it was freakin A cold.
If any of you San Diego people know what happened at the North County mall place on Saturday morning, please tell me. We never found out (I asked Faith and she didn't know). There was an ambulance and a helicopter in the parking lot.
        Oh yeah, it rained.
You know what I was wondering...? Why all of a sudden this site is all over the place. I mean, I found it linked on a couple sites, Poker sent it to me, and when I walked into the journalism room it was playing on one of the gorgeous computers they've got in there. It's an entertaining link, by the way. If you haven't seen it, I suggest you visit.

My last blog before leaving for San Diego. Only going to be there until Saturday, but I get to miss school tomorrow (er...today).
Had an exchange at Rubidoux today. Wind ensemble went over there to perform. They have an amazing sax player (he's going to prostitute himself at USC...full scholarship....like whoa) but our flute section can beat up their flute section. Maybe not...but we kicked booty.

I'm exhausted I'm talking nonsense and I have to finish packing. AAACK.
We're going to be at Rancho Bernardo HS tomorrow. Come stalk me.

Diet Coke tastes better than regular Coke and iced caramel macchiatos made with nonfat milk taste better than they do when they're made with whole milk. Woohoo

Did you know that USC band members prostitute themselves?

What's with all this reflection? Is it just me, or do you too fear getting old? Hmm?

-Not really...because you'll always be older than me =)

April 15, 2001

I would just like to comment on Sar's observation because I wound up talking with a friend about the same subject...sort of.

"Well...she's only like this with him...she does all this stuff to him because he lets her."

"You mean she only does it because she can?"

"Yeah..."

Okay, it basically sucks if some girl is controlling her boyfriend, but it's even worse if he lets it happen. There's a difference between nice and too nice. Maybe spineless guys deserve aggressive girlfriends. Maybe they need them. Who knows?

I love my section. I love the seniors. Fweee rock.

I'm on the bottom left. We're hardcore flutes. We defend our queen ant. Erm...king. See the mighty flute toy?

-The flute toy is indeed mighty. I just found out today that that sucker costs about $50.

Unphotogenic. That's me. I hate the way I come out in most pictures.
I was looking at some old pictures and realized that I looked better two years ago. Then again I wore a lot more makeup two years ago. But then I looked at some picutres that were even older and saw that those looked better than my freshman and sophomore pictures. I blame it on weight gain.
All you high school guys: You WILL gain weight after you graduate. You may be skinny now but just you wait! Give it one year, and you'll all know how girls feel. We gain all our weight in high school. You gain yours in college. It's coming.

April 13, 2001

I was standing in front of the huge mirrors in the showroom with $300 worth of pink dripping off of me.
Don't get me wrong, it was a pretty dress. Just not something I would choose. It looked like something Sar would wear. You know, pink, kind of sparkly and Cinderella-y. Not my type. Not to mention the dress was two sizes too big. If it wasn't for the straps it would fall right off.
So I'm in this boutique that doesn't carry anything smaller than a size six wearing a cotton candy explosion with a $290 price tag that my Mom of all people likes. It had all these sequin looking things on the bodice that quite frankly made me look huge. I wear a small size, but you can bet it's not because I'm thin. It's because I'm incredibly short. Like oh my-god-you're-a-senior-I-thought-you-were-in-sixth-grade short.
        I really hate dress shopping.

Why are we kicking it at a Rite-Aid???
        Um, good question.
The sad thing is...it was the second time in the past week I had wound up in that place with my friends. In the same lounge chair they had on display. Last time it was with Oishiri and Leah and they were making fun of the sunglasses. This time it was with Sar, Sunflower Girl, and Poker. We were very settled. Sar with her coffee, Sunflower Girl with her magazine and her Tickle Tickle Wiggle Wiggle easter bunny. All of us seated in the lawn and lounge chairs that were on display. Poker was the one who thought we were weird. I suppose he's the only "normal" one out of all of us. Whatever normal is.
You all should try it someday. It's rather relaxing. We would have stayed longer had it not been for Sunflower Girl's curfew. But it's all good. We should do it again.

*Ahem* Why are backless dresses hard to wear? Clue me in here...

Enjoy your spring break!

Okay, bye.

*Stickers are no fun. Although I can't say that all of them look as grotesque as the ones I linked. But still...

Trace sent me a link. Turns out there's a word for people who fear flutes. I guess some people can't handle our awesomeness.

If you want a formal dress with a back, you're out of luck.
I can't see how they can charge so much for a dress when you're really only getting half a dress. Actually, I can't say I have anything against backless dresses, just that they're hard to wear *ahem* Never again.

April 04, 2001

Well what do you know...today was festival and we actually did well. I take back what I said...about not being good. Symphonic band got a superior, and wind ensemble got straight superiors. Like whoa. I can kind of see why though. I kind of doubted the performance up until the middle of the second piece. All of a sudden it sounded so good that it literally took my breath away. How nerdy is that.
All of the soloists did great. Trumpets were awesome. And the flutes' vibratos oozed of sex. Especially Flute Girl's (she gets two thumbs up). We rule.

Music of the Day:

First Suite in Eb by Gustav Holst
Ye Banks and Braes o Bonnie Doon by Percy Grainger
Earl of Oxford's Marche from the William Byrd Suite by Gordon Jacob
Allerseelen by Richard Strauss

Hmm..haven't posted in a while....kinda lost on what's going on? Dang..it's 1:33am and i'm freakin tired. I should go sleep. These 8am classes are killing me. Especially since i drive to school every freakin morning. So i have to wake up at 6am for a 8am class.... bummer.

April 02, 2001

She was rambling like it was three AM...saying whatever was on her mind...I shouldn't have laughed

"...I just want to tell him how I feel...he's butt-ugly but really sweet...and I really like him...."

I had a hard time convincing her that I approved of what she was telling me because I cracked up after she said "butt-ugly". But I did; I liked what I was hearing. I mean, I don't know whether this guy is all that nice--I haven't exactly taken to any of the other guys she has liked--but I think she has the right idea. Two points for her.

Let me see. Yes I know Manuel. Okay.

In responding to Sara's post on her site, here are some tidbits:
The Krispy Kreme is DELIVERY. Not fresh. Not hot.
The Jamba Juice...well is just tolerable.
And there is NO Starbucks on campus. Given, the coffee stands on campus brew Starbucks COFFEE (and Seattle's Best Coffee), there is no actual Starbucks ON CAMPUS. I guess they count the one across the street, since USC just bought out the shopping center across the street... yeah.

Anyway, Congrats to Sara for making it to SC.
