A yen for asian-ish food today. I'm eating this Chinese-Thai stuff from a couple days ago. It held up pretty well.

I'm just sitting here tearing my hair out because it seems to me that I never received a bill for winter quarter and my classes have been dropped. At least I don't think I've gotten a bill. Argh. There's nothing I can do about it as of now. It's a good thing I don't have a gun, if I did I'd probably shoot myself.

Hope you have a good New Year's Eve, I still don't know what I'm doing tonight.

You ordered at HAZELNUT Caramel Macchiato, eh? Did I get you hooked on the craze?

Yesterday I spent time with Sunflower as promised. Make that Saturday, not yesterday. Anyhow, I got to see Sar and Tough Girl too. Now Tough Girl I have not seen in ages, and seeing her was surprisingly good. I mean, I was really really happy to see her. After we went to her place (I've never been in her room before I really really like her room) and talked for a while (she's freakin obsessed with Lord of the Rings I mean I want to see it but she's seen it THREE FRICKEN TIMES and even timed Liv Tyler's screen time...ten minutes) we grabbed coffee at Starbucks. I ordered at tall nonfat hazelnut caramel macchiato but they gave me a grande =\ Noooot goooood. Somehow I lost my tolerance to caffeine over the last month. It kept me up for hours. Four or five am. Argh.

We had a good talk. Afterward we headed to Sar's to watch Legally Blonde on her computer. She was all psyched because they had used USC in some of the scenes. Erm, go Ocean's Eleven you can see the UCI science library when they go get the pinch thing. I think it's a pinch. Erm, right.

Went out once again today. Sar's padre makes good chili. Anyhow, I got another peach thing today. Peach Icy from Tapioca Express. Their's are better than Lollicup's. Oh, and does anyone have any idea what a Do Do Icy is? It was on the Tapioca Express menu.

Haha I suddenly remembered the restaurant called My Dung. I think it's a Vietnamese place. Anyhow, I digress...

Sar, Sunflower, Leahcimar and I wound up in the same spot with a view that Sar, Mo Fricker and I were at two days earlier. And the stupid bunny was still there. One of these days it's going to get mashed. Mashed bunny. New dish at Thanksgiving. Mmmmmm....

Oishiri is leaving tomorrow (erm...today)! AIYAH. She was supposed to leave on Tuesday!!

*sigh* I'm sleepy. Happy New Year's Eve yapeoples.

Oh yeah, E is playing with the Lord of the Rings name generator. I'm Lila Foxburr of Fair Downs. His last name is Hamwich. Sounds very edible. Find out what your name is here.

December 29, 2001

Satisfying the on and off chocolate craving I've had since last night. Argh.

Don't even know why I bothered signing onto AIM. I think I'm going to sign off. There. I just did.

*sigh* I've got to do something very Angeleno for once. I think that's how it's spelled, the thing is everyone always pronounces it all gringoesque...like Angelino. Or maybe that's how it's spelled. Gah. Like I know.

I've been sitting here in front of the computer for hours now. I want to go to one of those cheap café places one of these days just for kicks. Hm. Cheap food. Cheap chicken at Max Foods. Random thought.

Time to get off the computer now. I'm throwing up my baby bumblebee.

Yes indeed yesterday was a yesterday. I went to the bank to deposit some dinero, then went to go get gas. I'm a genius, I finally figured out that I don't need a credit card gas card or cash to get gas. My ATM card works just fine if I need it....yes. Then I went to Puente to make a return. Hm.

That night me, Ape, Oishiri, Mo Fricker, and Sar went to go get some boba. Well, sort of. I got a peach slush. The last time I got a peach slush I ruined it by getting tapioca in it. The pearls were warm and melted the slush. The pearls also tasted funny, and they made the slush all warm and syrupy tasting. So yes, no tapioca. Poker had some other plans or something, but he had asked if we were going to do anything some other time during break. Mo Fricker said that we should go clubbing on the 29th because he wouldn't be turning eighteen until the 30th *muahahah* yes.

Sar, Mo Fricker and I found a place with a nice view to park and chat after driving thru at Jack in the Box. It was bangin baby bangin because she was driving the van and I could stretch out across the middle seats. The weirdest thing was this white rabbit that was hopping all over the street. At one point Mo Fricker got out of the van to chase it but it hopped away. It kept coming back.

I don't know what's going down today. It's raining and I don't feel like driving in the rain. I feel like slummin here for a while. Maybe I'll see Sunflower tonight. Bah. I don't know.

I'm licking up my baby bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me...

Yeah, and drop a shameless plug to say that there's a new post up at my page, which you can get to by clicking here. That is all.

I was going to die of exhaustion by the end of today. Thanks for the wakeup call Sunflower!

Today was very computer-fied. The uncle came over so we could go get some stuff for the evil laptop at Fry's. Spent the rest of the afternoon learning some more java. I think some of it is starting to get through....

I conked out after dinner and had this weird dream about talking to my old World Lit teacher about working the PSAT class again over the summer and seeing Cal Girl and talking to her about working and filling out some form on the internet for Leah and having to pay Scam because she got charged everytime we sent in a form and hitting tennis balls while I was sitting at an outdoor dining table while me and my family were eating. Weird. Scam and Tough Girl had called me right before I fell asleep but they were going to go see Ocean's Eleven (which I had already seen) and I was too tired to go anywhere anyway. Ah well.

Okay time to explain the madness that went down yesterday. Apes and I had lunch at Carrow's. Lunch and a chat. Then we called up a bunch of people, and found out that Sar was at Savon so we drove there and found her car and parked next to it. We then ran into Savon to look for her. We didn't find her, so we just got some UJ gum. Did you know that they have catch tray things for the conveyor belt things that you can pull out? Okay...random fact. Anyhow, we caught Sar as she walked in w/ her dad. We then went to Schurr to go talk to our best Queen Ant (aka our male band director) who was (of course) at school. He played us some stuff on the piano that he composed himself and explained the melodies and chords and stuff. Of course, this was all after he explained to us that the Christmas tree we saw belonged to the choir and not the band (in other words it wasn't his fault that there were tampons used as ornaments). We sat and chatted with him for a while and then he had to be somewhere (=D) so we all went to Sar's house. We chillaxed and decided to see a movie. Called some people up but only Oishiri was avaliable. Sar's mommy made us oko no miyaki for dinner =D I tried it once in Japanese class last year, but Sar's mom used shrimp so it was all G double O D good.

Oishiri came and we finished eating, so we left for Puente to catch the 7:25 showing of Kate and Leopold. We got cut off by some ricer who didn't see me. If we had hit him Apes would have died =( He didn't check his blind spot so he almost merged into me. Bastard. Okay so I do it all the time, but at least I signal.

We got there in due time, bought our fricken eight dollar tickets at the machine and walked into the movie a little late. It was...an okay movie. Oishiri was swoo-ing over Leopold. According to her he doesn't deserve the full swoon until he proves he can really sing. Sing well, that is.

Uneventful drive back. Dropped Apes off at the house of the Skimalicious one and then took a short drive. We did a drive-by Mo Fricker's house but all was dark so we assumed no one was home (which I just found out was untrue) and then we dropped Oishiri off at her car. Sar and I then proceeded to make our way to Leah's house. We called him and he came out in his pajamas with no glasses or contacts. He was like, blind =D Oh wait, that's not a good thing. Anyway, we called up Sunflower to find out where she was, and she told us that she was going to her grandma's to drop something off or something like that, but a few minutes later she pulled up next to us with her little brother in the passenger seat. She drove off and we peeled out at a screaming thirty miles per hour and then proceeded to "chase" her at a frightening 35 miles an hour, stopping at all stop signs and signaling before we turned, of course.

We ended up at her house, and we chillaxed in the car just talking and being weird. Sunflower got a nasty creepy looking Justin(e) bobble head that she put in her cupholder. Oh the horrors. Well, we played with our cell phones, listening to different ring tones and to Leah's voice message thing. I kept calling Leah and Sunflower. Well, Sunflower had to go to work, so we left at around 12 and I dropped Leah off at home. Sar and I "drove" (drove in quotations because I wasn't exactly using the gas...=X) around her barrio for quite a while....until we got pulled over. Evidently we scared someone on one of the streets we were driving down so they called the cops. Perhaps it was the house with the light with the motion sensor that we kept turning on. Anyhow, there was not just one but two squad cars. We must have looked pretty dangerous.

Oishiri (1:37 AM): did the cop ask you if you were a ticket cuz you got fine written all over you?
No he didn't, but he let us go anyway.

We parked in front of Sar's house and talked for a while longer. Then I went home.

Tomorrow night (eerrr...today) I think we're going to have a very end-of-senior-year style group outing. So far I have Mo Fricker, Sar, Poker, and Oishiri confirmed. Anyone else give one of us a call. We might get boba-ed out. Boba, tapioca, bubble tea. Yech. I'll get mine sans balls thankyouverymuch. Balls make me ill.

I'm smashing up my baby bumblebee, won't my mommy be so proud of me...

Hmm...just wanted to say Happy Birthday UJ! Indeed, I remembered.

Oh yes, I don't have much time but lots and lots to tell...movie, aimless driving, getting pulled over by cops, low speed car chase, freaky bobble-heads (sp?) etc. etc. Stay tuned...don't touch that dial.

I saw this and I thought I was going to die. It's like this but in two languages and with music =D

(link) Midori | 0 comments | 12:57 PM

Happy Birthday Sunflower!!! and a happy Xmas eve to the rest of you.

I meant to post this yesterday but my connection died on me for whatever reason, so I'm posting today.

Yesterday Scam and I went to Puente. The traffic got pretty nasty. Everytime I want to knock on wood there's no wood =\ Okay that was random por vida. Anyway, we went to the ATM so I could get some cash and then went to MTC in all its ghettoness. She said that the security guard there was someone from high school, but I don't know who she was talking about....well yes. Anyway. There was a spanish radio station there. Estrella something something something. The parking there sucked.

Anyway, went to dinner with Damy at Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica at some Italian place that started with a T. Browsed the stores for a while. Went to Urban Outfitters again and looked at some more books. There was this one that was supposed to be read when you're stoned, but I was straight and read it, and I thought it was hilarious. I don't think you need to be stoned. Went to Starbucks and then went home. The coffee kept me up all freakin night. Caffeine sensitive once again =\

Today I fought the mall crowds once more to get a gift for my dad. The Estrella something something something was still there. Then I went to Scam's place. Well, I took a detour before I went there, because they were playing Beethoven's 1st on the classical station and I wanted to listen to the whole thing =X and then I went to Scam's house. Chilled there for a while (make that chillaxed) and then Sar and Trace came over with their gifts. We bummed and slummed for a while just talking, and then I had to leave. Just as I was leaving Oishiri arrived...she had avocados!!! =D She gave me four of those mondo aguacates from her tree. I look forward to devouring them. Maybe with shoyu or miso dressing =D =D =D It's the small things in life...

Anyhow, I left and made many wrong turns on the way to Morsel's house. I finally got there and we went to Old Town Monrovia to go watch Ocean's Eleven at 5:50 pm. We got there around six. Even worse, we were supposed to meet Mogy, Uika and Nigel (hahahah) there but they weren't there yet =X Morsel got the tickets and waited for them and I went inside to save seats. It was a decent movie.

Went to Coldstone's afterwards even though we hadn't had dinner yet. Uika made a big fricken mess with her huge ice cream Mondae (yeah, that's what they call it) and I don't know why she was eating it in the first place because she's lactose intolerant =X Dude, she's going to be regrettin it...hahah.

Morsel and I made an In n Out (that's what a hamburger's all about) run and then I dropped her off. And here I am, fingers freezing, I can barely type. Not only that but the connection just died on me so I'm gong to have to post this later. Oh woe is me.

December 22, 2001

I noticed that my left cheek is much redder than the right one. I think I'm going to bruise after all.

When I was at Urban Outfitters with Leah I saw this cool book called How to be Happy, Dammit: a Cynic's guide to spiritual happiness. It sounded so me, especially me last year in with my winter moodiness and extreme cynicism.

You know what's horrible? There's this one commercial on the radio for this bail bonds place, you know, where you can get money for bail. Anyway, there's this whole skit/dialogue thing at the beginning w/ "Santa" getting arrested for being an imposter or something like that. So yeah, they go through that whole thing and then at the end of the commercial they advertise themselves as "[insert name of business here] Bail Bonds! Where Santa goes when he needs to get bailed out of jail" or something like that. Now if that's not ghetto I don't know what is.

My knee hurts, and so does my face. It's time for bed. Ciao baby.

I was reaching for something on the floor and I ran the other side of my face into the edge of the drafting board. Congratulate me.

I guess blogback won't let me use java source code in the "text" area... so i'll post what i intended to put over here...

for( int i = 0; i < 3; i-- ) { system.out.print("Ho! "); }

That's my infinite loop =)

(link) Damy | 0 comments | 4:38 PM

Hmmm I haven't updated in a while have I? The last time I updated...I went to bed at like, two that night/morning. I was walking back to my room and I ran my face into a wall =( It still hurts. It hurts to smile like this =) and even more to smile like this =D. Anyhow...oh yeah...it hurts to smile. It didn't bruise though, I iced it the way I did the last time I ran my face into something. This time it hurt more.

So yeah, it hurts to smile. I went to the mall yesterday and when I left this lady said "I'm sorry ma'am but I'm going to have to give you a ticket for not smiling." and I was like what the heeeck. Okay, first of all I hate being called ma'am because it sounds so old, and second of all she wanted a five dollar donation or something for the "ticket". I have no idea whether this woman was legit or not so I passed on the donation.

The uncle came over for a couple hours and I learned some cool java stuffs. I know how to make an infinite loop =D Very exciting....yes indeed. I went to go get Leah and then went over to Apes' house to go meet up w/ everyone else. Leah and I saw a possum in the middle of the street. Stupid opossum. It was *almost* to the other side of the street, but when it saw me coming it ran back to the side it came from. Anyhow, we had an iiiinteresting drive over. It was raining, and the water on the street reflects more than the reflectors =( so I wound up in the middle of the road more than once =X Not only that but the windows kept fogging. I think I scared everyone. I'm a better driver in the mornings and/or when it's dry...really.

We went to the Crocodile Cafe. Apes stole the candy they had at the counter =D We sat at our table and ordered our drinks (I know the iced tea isn't sweet =\). The hostess who was our waitress brought our drinks. She spilled the coke and the water...the water on the table and the coke on herself =( I felt bad for her, she was pretty soaked. It was coo...I just spread my napkin over the wet part and Leah asked for another napkin for me. We all got the same thing except for Scam. Apes and I had the exact same order...dammit! Heheh...anyway we asked the hostess who was our waitress to divide up the check, which she did. She really wasn't supposed to be waitressing, she must have had a rough time though. I left a 20% tip because she really was quite nice.

We did a little aimless driving...or "driving". Oishiri told me to see how far I could go without using the gas. The car goes veeeeery sloooowly but it doesn't stop. So I wound up passing Apes house twice. Apes was going to try to leave the car when it was still moving because I wouldn't stop, but at the last minute I slammed on the brake =D

We did some more gas pedal-less driving in a residential area. Leah was going crazy...heheh. We went to Rite-Aid afterwards to look for ice cream. Scam knocked out in the car while Leah, Oishiri and I went inside. The ice cream counter was closed, so we wandered the aisles. It was fun..heheh. Leah and I squeezed all of the musical stuffed animals and quickly walked away when he saw an employee coming. Then we went to another toy aisle and played with a gobbling turkey. An employee was coming so Leah just played everything off. Hahah...was much fun. Oishiri found triangular gift bags =D Anyhow, we remembered that Scam was in the car so we went back. I dropped off Leah. We heard Rock the Boat so I rocked the car, worked the middle, and changed position. Interesting interesting. We noticed that Ja Rule is on everysingleminuteoftheday. He's got a zillion songs on the air.

Anyway, I dropped off Scam and the went on my merry way to drop off Oishiri. We talked about ghetto santa claus in a sleigh with hydraulics and flames painted on the side. He'd be wearing Lugz and Kani, and Rudolph's nose would blink extrafast hahahah. We think up the weirdest stuff.

The rain was horrible horrible, and now I'm going to go to Old Town w/ Leah. Old Town revisited. Adios me peoples.

December 19, 2001

I was just listening to a CD by Ryan Oliver Scott. It has music for...I forget what the first "suite" was called but the second was The Cruicible. He wrote and scored a whole bunch of music and got a bunch of people from his school (including my brother) to play/sing all the parts. It came out pret-ty darn good. I know that my brother was a little hesitant about playing for the guy because apparently he's a little freakydeaky, but I guess it all worked out for the best. You know, the amazing thing is is that the guy is my age. Lordy. I wish I could write music.

ERGH Cingular is being a retard again. I'm trying to get this dinner thing smoothed over and it keeps on going out on me. Blasted.

Apes keeps telling me that my dad keeps accidentally calling her because he forgets to lock the keys =D It's a riot I tell you.

Anyway, dinner at the Croc Cafe sounds good. Me and Apes can get our hamturkeyavocado sandwiches! Yeeeeee! I'm so excited =D Not only that I haven't seen all of them together (Sar, Sunflower, Apes, Scam, Oishiri, Leah, and Trace) since we went to CPK forevers ago. Last summer. Seems like a mighty long time.

Oh yeah, I talked to Kat today. Amaaaazing. I haven't talked to her in a while, and I haven't seen her since May. Sheeeeezies.

I'm chillaxin and drinking peach water. It's quality stuff I tell you. And it's reduced calorie now! If you want to get it...it's in a pinkish bottle (gradient type thing...pink at the bottom fading up) and it has a soft-focus peach on it. No english. The only thing I can read is something-sarutsukiri ka-ro-rii o-fu. The karorii ofu is probably calorie-off. There's a picture of a peach on the cap and one of the characters on the bottle is the one for water.

Oh yeah oh yeah my Japanese skills rock the socks.

Fweeeeee

Blogger is retarded....AGAIN

Yah.. when i was working at Custom Images... old people were in the Mall doing laps on the upper level. I thought they were nuts. I was barely awake while working =P

(link) Damy | 0 comments | 4:02 AM

I'm feeling slightly naseous and really tired, which is why I'm not signed onto AIM. I felt like posting though.

Had a fun evening on Monday. I was online and Leah signed on. We decided that we were bored so I told him that I was going to go pick him up. Since Sunflower lives so close by we went to go tap on her window. She didn't freak out this time though. She thought that we were her cousin A, so she was just saying "A...I know it's you! I can hear you laughing!" when Leah started tapping on the window with the hose. She finally opened the window and I was laughing so hard I was crying. Anyway, she wanted to go over to scare Sar but that didn't work out too well. First, Sunflower's brother wanted to go, and he wound up getting to Sar's house before we did, so we drove him back. And then we didn't know what room Sar was in because all the windows were dark. We knew she was there because Sunflower had called her. It was pretty funny because she told her she was at Tony Romas with her coworkers, but then she said "Whoa slow down!" when I was driving...hahah. Sunflower can't lie.

We went to Sar's and didn't scare her. We chillaxed in Sar's room. Sar conked out while me, Sunflower and Leah were going through the H.O.T. (HOTO muahahh) video Candy on her computer. We didn't bother waking up Sar. Instead, we found the Friends episode where Ross dresses up like an armadillo and paused it so there was a huge armadillo on her computer screen. Sunflower drew a picture of Sar sleeping and we stuck it to the screen next to the armadillo and then put the one-eyed kermit in the chair in front of the computer with one hand on the mouse and one on the keyboard =D.

Leah turned off the light and we left without waking her up. I dropped off Sunflower because she had to work the next morning. Leah and I did some aimless driving, driving past the houses of some old friends. We went to the mall that was open late (until 11..!) because I had a strange pretzel craving. Auntie Anne's only had almond pretzels left (boo!) so we went to Wetzels which isn't as good as Auntie Anne's, but had my cinnamon and Leah's sour cream and onion. We sat down on one of the benches in the mall to eat our food and did some chillaxin and some good talking. We saw people we knew from high school but didn't really talk to anymore. It was strange. Anyhow, we left the mall when the employees started leaving (around midnight) and I went to go drop him off.

I forgot who it was that told me that old people go to the mall to do laps at like, six in the morning. It's actually a very good idea. Wisdom comes with age, I suppose.

Went shopping with the mom today. I was so unbelievably tired I thought I was going to collapse. Anyway, we went to Marukai afterwards where we got some good grub for la cena and some gooood peach water for a lot cheaper than they sell it for at Mitsuwa or Tozai...! I tried the apple water but it wasn't that great. I like peach.

I feel so disgusting right now. I think it's time for me to head off to bed. Goodnight moon.

December 17, 2001

I was just thinking...I was driving back home after dropping off Apes and I had to wait for a pedestrian to cross my street before I turned into it. I swear it was one of my freshman. I mean, she was in black and white and was carrying a flute and everything. And I know that the band was playing at MTC. I should have offered her a ride or something but I'm still not sure if it was...=X Ah well, she probably would have run away screaming from the freak in the dirty car with cat-prints on it.

(link) Midori | 0 comments | 7:33 PM

Me and Apes went to go pick up Sar today. After a little meandering around downtown Los Angeles we made it to Mitsuwa where we did some meandering around the shops. Sar was in Hello Kitty heaven. Amusing yes. There were many, many items that said "for sale in Japan only" or something to that effect. So much for that.

Anyhow, we took sticker pics (which I haven't done in over a year I believe) and grabbed some stuff at the market. Apes got peach water (which I love) and I got sparkling peach water. Sar got her first taste of real asian food in months as well as some drink that started with a Y...what was it again..?

When Sar got in the car she gave me and Apes each a pack of gum =D I got UJ (polar ice) gum, of course, and Apes got Trident. Woooohoooooooo

I watched Snow Falling On Cedars, or I finished watching it anyway. The story was so-so, but I'll have to agree with Leah in saying that the artistic presentation was beautiful. Watching in on my computer can be something of a pain though. The screen looks a little dark because it's tilted, and from a distance some of the details get lost. Oh well.

We must go to the Crocodile Cafe. I want my ham and turkey avocado sandwich. Ikimashooooo

I've been tempted to purchase that book upon several occasions.. is it good? man, I feel like I've missed a lot around here..

December 16, 2001

I'm reading Memoirs of a Geisha right now. I know that I'm a little behind...it's been long since the time everyone was talking about it, but whatever. It's good. It's also strange. At first I thought it was a fictional book, but then I realized that they really were memoirs. So when I read about how a certain person had talked with Hemingway or Chaplin...it seems odd. The strangest thing was the part where Sayuri talks with a blind koto master. My koto teacher told me about him once. She said that he was rather full of himself and wouldn't allow us koto players overseas to use any of his music. In the book he was portrayed as a benevolent old man. Or maybe I'm just getting mixed up.

Note (12/19): Okay get this...I finally finished the book and realized that the so-called "translator's note" at the beginning was fictional too, meaning the whole thing was fictional. Hmm...I was wondering why the names didn't match up. I'm smacking myself on the head right now because Kelly is a first class moron.
Anyhow, I did get to see Mogy, Juniper, and Morsel today. Was quite nice. Uika (how on earth did Morsel come up with that name...) was off doing sorority stuff so she wasn't there. Shimatta. Anyhow, it was a lot of fun. I got to be a white elephant on stage =D Morsel was a gray rabbit and Mogy was a Bodhi tree. Morsel and I had a battle. I think she won because she got me with her scissor-ears.

I tried telling them Leah's "driving me nuts" joke but I was laughing so much that I only got halfway through. My mom had come by to tell me we had to get going so I forgot about the joke and left. I'll need to finish it...sometime =D

Morsel gave me "boot-socks" from AE Outfitters. I'm wearing them right now. Wooohaaaaaa.

I went to go see my brother play in another concert this afternoon, this one for school. They played Tannhauser, which I have played some years ago. A very watered down version, of course. However, I couldn't sing the melody to you if you asked me to. Funny, because I actually had to do chair testing on that piece. It was horrible, I didn't even know we had chair testing (either that or I had forgotten) so I was virtually sightreading. Awful awful awful. I was a wreck.

Anyhow, I digress. They also did some Mozart. Then Dance of the Hours. Y'know, the Fantasia thing with all the alligators and hippos and the like. The thing is...the only thing going through my head during that piece was Hello maddah...hello faddah...here I am at...Camp Granada....horrible. I wanted to laugh but that would have been highly unappropriate. Well, after that were three movements from The Nutcracker which was very nice. They were the same movements I had played when I performed ("performed") it. In fact, the second flutes were using my music, since the school seemed to be lacking a second flute part. I hope they'll give me my music back.

The Arabian movement is wonderful. It's so...demure with these low undertones that are barely moving yet are still there. Then these brief solos come out. I still like that oboe solo. Both times I've heard it live the Brother was playing it. He is really quite, quite good. Better than I ever was or ever will be.

This is getting rather lengthy, and I just realized I've hardly said anything. Well, before it gets any longer and my freezing cold fin-jers fall off, I'm out like an out. Payce dawg (I sound like UJ don't I =D)

Quick blog before I go to bed because I'm TIRED with a capital everything.

I bummed and slummed all day. Didn't leave the house except for a short while at night, when I went to the grocery store to get green onions for my mom. I think I saw Bearic there but I'm not sure. I was in a hurry, so I just grabbed the onions, some UJ gum, paid and took off.

My fingers (pronounced fin-jers) are freezin their butts off. Or they would be if they had butts. Interesting mental picture. Ugh.

December 15, 2001

Hello. I don't think I went on yesterday. Amazing amazing amazing.

I did some major shopping yesterday. Did I mention that I'm the worst driver I know? (Well maybe not the worst but y'know...) Driving in the rain was fricken murder. At least the windows didn't fog.

My first stop was to J town with all the delightful one way streets and temporary street signs. Oh, and expensive parking. I went to Mitsuwa (formerly Yaohan) for freakin 10-15 minutes and it cost me $1.75. That's what they charge for the first 20 minutes. That's why I wanted to go on a Sunday =\ Next time I'm going to do the metered parking thing. I forgot about that option...

Anyhow, after a few wrong turns I finally made my way out of Los Angeles and its extreme ghettoness and went to the Santa Anita mall. Wasted too much time there. Bought books =X I have no willpower. Being it a weekday, the crowds weren't too bad. Parking wasn't too bad either. By the time I left a lot of the cars were leaving and the rain had stopped =D

Ohhh yeah I stopped by HOWS market to look for my polar ice (UJ) gum that I miss so much. They didn't haaave iiiit. Oh woe is me.

I went to Old Town after that. It was getting a little late so I rushed through my shopping there, my purchases including yet another book. I think I have enough reading material for at least another week. Anyway, I'm happy to say that I'm almost done with my Christmas shopping. Just two or three more gifts and I'm set.

Went home and ate dinner fast, then went to my brother's Olympia concert. The emcees always have faulty English. It's kind of hard to understand them sometimes. The program had a few errors as well. The most interesting of them was a reference to the Grater Los Angles area. Anyhow, them kids are very good musicians. Indeed. They played Beethoven's seventh. I remember playing the slow movement. I think I'd like to go to a LA Phil concert or something with the orchestra playing stuff I've played before. Live music is so much better than the recorded stuff. The bowing of professionals is always synchronous. And everything is in tune. Amazing.

I'm going to see the Nishi chickee's mañana =) I've got to get their gifts wrapped and ready to go. Ay ay ay.

Well, time to go do something...productive....right. Goo goo goo and ta ta.

Okay well now that my page has officially pissed me off....*sigh*

Well I've got three computers in my room as of now. My poor mac has been outnumbered. The Uncle is going to come by and take back his computer tomorrow so it'll be back to one on one. He came over today to help me figure out the mysteries of Windows. Mysteries I would have been happy to let alone if only I wasn't an ICS major oh dear dear dear.....

I need to get some more shopping done. I need to get it done before the weekend. I'm going to maybe get a little done tomorrow (more like today) and some on Friday...? A lot on Friday. ERRRGHHHHH.

Shoot me.

Oh yeah I forgot to write about the whack psycho dream I had the other night. It was at UCI and stuff and there were a bunch of people I've met at school there and stuff. But everything was all messed up. Like I was at Middle Earth...eating...but it didn't look like Pippins or Brandywine. There were a bunch of non-UCI people there too like Leah and Sar and Sunflower. And for some reallyodd reason at the end of the dream I was dressed in my black and whites--necktie and all--with my flute sightreading some sort of Sousa march at a UCI basketball game (keep in mind I've never been to a UCI basketball game). Oh and get this...like for some reason me and my buds made up the majority of the woodwinds. So the brass peoples were all UCI people...like second year and up. So anyway they were saying something like "God Bless something" and praying and stuffs I kinda commented that it was unconstitutional and then Scam was all backing me up with all this legal stuff so the band veterans got all huffy and the majority of the brass section just walked out. Weird.

Lets see....the new nasty PC laptop that I'll be living off of next quarter came in yesterday. Finally re-set up my computer in my room next to the mondo freaky PC, and there will be a new layout up before break is over. I hope.

Not much else to say, except that my fingers are really really cold. Peace out.

December 11, 2001

I smell food. I'm not sure what it is but it smells better than commons.

Got a slightly late start on my errands today due to the fact that my dad forgot his housekey and called telling me not to go anywhere until he got back. Right on.

Went to the ATM in my ghettoville hometown (well close enough) and was gratified to find that there was no line and I was all alone. Got my cash quick and freaked out a little when I turned around and found someone behind me. Oh ghetto town...

Went to Kinkos and made some copies on the Kodak machine thingie. Was a pain because I needed a bunch of copies and needed to reenter the password each time, which means that I had to find an employee to enter the password for me each time. The lady who took care of my copies gave me coupons =D Of course she had to ring everything up separately but I saved about ten bucks. Rock on.

Went to get some posterboard and then I wanted fried chicken. Didn't want to make the trip to KFC so I went to Popeyes. There was a guy in there with two earrings in his left ear wearing flowered leggings. Eesh. Went to get coffee and now here I am in a caffeine induced stupor.

Or not. But close enough.

I want to go to Curry House next week. It's in your area, Sar!

Oh yes, thanks to XL I am now on a quest for peach smints. Dammit dammit dammit I can't find them!

December 10, 2001

I'm here trying to get motivated to do something productive (wrap gifts or something of the like) and pretty much freezing my appendages off (I can't feel my fingers).

Made a quick trip to MTC with Irv (aka Herv gotta love them Starbucks peoples) so he could go look for a gift. Wound up not getting the gift. Went to go get coffee instead. I like nonfat milk.

Well, there's nothing left for me on the internet tonight (unless I get bored later on) so I think I'll be off to do something productive (like wrap gifts or something of the like).

Music of the Moment: Waltz from Khachaturian's Masquerade because I found it on my new CD and yes I believe I rather like it.

*dancing around singing the trolley song*

Finally!

You are Pablo Picasso's Three Musicians. You are colourful and provoking, always looking to break out of the mould and to pioneer new ways of doing things. You have a jaunty outlook and although you are a bit weird, most people have some idea what you're about.

A bit weird hm? Took the Art Test that XL linked on her blog.

I didn't go into much detail about yesterday because I was so exhausted up the fricken arse (Angela's Ashes again...I think my mom took my book) but there was some interesting stuff...

They put me on that freefalling ride at DCA. I hate those things. But it's all good because we rode the ferris wheel with the things that slide back and forth and rock all over the place. What was bad was that someone threw up on it and we had to watch it get cleaned up. ARRRGH. There isn't too much to do there. Food is expensive. That roller coaster isn't bad. Nothing there has the Disney feel to it. Leah and I took lots and lots of BBQ dipping sauce from the McDonalds they have there. 59 to be exact. All that and one sweet n sour, which I took accidentally. He stuffed his pockets and I stuffed my purse...hahah. Reminded me of commons. I take teabags from commons for fun. At first I thought I'd actually use the tea, but I never do.

I digress. I'd write more but my fingers are getting so cold they're going to fall off I swear =\ Ciao por vida.

December 09, 2001

Music of the Moment: The Nutcracker Suite by Tchaikovsky because I'd really love to perform it again.

With that out of the way, I can sit here with my hot cheap beef chow mein from Shau May and tell you about my day(s).

Yesterday I took the Brother shopping and then dropped him off for his lesson. I went to go get coffee afterward. I heard some good classical music playing in Starbucks so I went to Tower to get a couple of Tchaikovsy CDs and the Gayane Ballet (Ballet Gayane...?). Leah called me about Disney California Adventure while I was in the store. We were being stupid and I was laughing like a retard and he's all like "People are probably looking at you." to which I responded "I'm in the classical section. There's no one here."

So yeah, me, Scam, her sister, and Leah went to DCA today. Me, the bad driver, drove (*gasp*). Believe me, it's not worth the admission price. Thank goodness Scam had free tickets, got us free parking, 35% discounts on food and 40% discounts on everything else *whew*. It's aaall good.

There was this one good thing there (among a few others)...oh crap what was it called. Blast. It was like a band field show on stage, just much better. There was a drumline and flags and brass players glide stepping and everything. It's just the band nerdiness in me coming out.

Anyway, we caught the fireworks show Luminaria. It's been years since I've seen one of those things. I think the last time was freshman year in Florida =\ We left after that. Drove through some rain, moronic me made a wrong turn, but it was okay...=X

Went on a quest for fried chicken, to no avail. *gah* Leah got boba at Lollicup and I got my chow mein. I am really rather tired so I'm going to cut this short. Ta ta ya'lls.

Oh yeah, we're trying to make a "to do" list. Like, where we can go over winter break. Curry House, Citywalk, Museum of Miniatures, Korean BBQ, clubbing (just to try =P). Where else?

Woohooo I just found out that I have an A in bio *score* Now all I have to do is wait up on my anthro...the thing is...with these classes I'd feel badly if I did poorly in them. They're supposed to help my GPA. I'm crossing my fingers...

Going to bed now....I'm really tired even though I slept well last night and napped for about three hours after I got home. I'm taking the Brother Christmas shopping tomorrow after his lesson. The earlier we can leave the better, although I highly doubt I'll be able to beat the worst of the crowds. Oh well.

I'm sitting around awaiting my death that is sure to come when I take my anthro final in about forty minutes. I taste garlicky...leftover pasta from last night. Yummy. Where's my gum? I am a gum whore.

A is in the kitchen washing dishes. She got back from her crim final not too long ago.

I have to pack. I need gum. I don't want to go to anthro....

Oh I forgot to tell you about the cool Spanish soap opera I was watching last night (morning?) over at CV. Maria la del Barrio. Woohooooooo. It was pretty random. Maria is a ditz. She can also make her hair go from straight and wet to dry and curled in like, two minutes.

I have no idea what the show is about, I only know what Apes told me. My spanish is pretty gone. No hablo español =(

(link) Midori | 0 comments | 1:16 AM

For some reason I really can't nap. I fall into this half-sleep that really doesn't do anything for me.

So yes, I half-napped for about four hours today, two hours after my final and two hours after dinner. The bio final was okay, I finished in about twenty minutes. If I had to sit there any longer I think I would have passed out. I have to thank Apes for the bottled frap. It probably saved me.

So anyway, I half-napped and did some packing after I got back from my final at around two. Damy IMed me asking if I was studying. I was too out of it to study and he was hungry, so we went to go get some real food. Yum, pasta is always good.

Came back and half-napped for a while. Called up E to see if he wanted my bio notes. I was just going to give them to him and then go to the library, but once I got there he wanted to know about the final, so I just went into the commons with him to study. Haha...as if he studied. Anyway, I was there until about eleven. I left, went to the ATM, and came back to the room. Random came into the room to go over her notes because her roommate was watching TV in her room. Then Scam called and we talked for a while. We're going to DCA on Sunday =) Leah is going too. We're the only ones who are going to be back...even Apes is going to be sticking around at school until Sunday. Anyway....

I'm tired like fricken hell. I need to do a little packing, a little cleaning. A LOT of sleeping.

Anthro final tomorrow at 10:30. I need luck, I don't know what the final is going to look like =X At least for bio I had a good idea of what was going to be on the test. *sigh* I don't even know what I had to study, besides the vocab. I be moronic. Bleh.

Wells, my last night in Ur-vine for quite a while. I might miss it.

I'm out like I'm out. Wish me luck, I need it.

December 05, 2001

Time for some quality blogging (paradox?). Not that I have the time to spare, but oh well.

Yesterday was quite uneventful. I mean, really uneventful. I didn't have anywhere to go, so I tagged along with Apes to go turn in her Soc Science 3A work and then went to commons with her and the skimalicious Skim. He was supposed to meet friends there but they didn't show up at our usual spot. Turns out we got dissed for sorority girls. Nice.

Went back to the dorm and sat in the kitchen for a bit. W is going to make a CD of Christmas songs =D He's going to play the guitar and sing himself. Cooooool. He was sitting there pounding a drum pad for the longest time. Anyway, DJ was there too w/ his guitar. So yeah, he and Wwere trying to teach me chords and stuff but my hands are too small =P DJ wants to get me a children's guitar.

I changed the alert thing on my computer so when an alert window pops up the computer says "I'm watching you" in a really low hoarse whisper. I think it's funny. Apes says it's creepy.

Damy is just too cool. I was in the middle of this blog and he IMed me, so I said "Take me somewhere" and he said "Okay" hahah. So we went out to Balboa Island (that WAS the place wasn't it...?) and hung out there for a bit. I came back here and slept for fricken two and a half hours! MORONMORONMORON. MORON!!!! Aiyah. So I went to go get some food and came back here and went over the practice bio exam, went to the library to study until closing and here I am now with my fricken hyper roomie. She's so psychotic right now because she had too much fricken koooo-hiiiii. She's singing and dancing and stuff. Right now she's like singing "I'm Real" to me. She's on my bed. She's singing and touching me. She's going to fall off. She's whack. She's smelling me. Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!

Oh yes I forgot, The Brother told me what that piece was called. It wasn't a suite, it was a ballet. Ballet Gayane by Aram Khatchaturian. I want the mp3 now. If you have it send it on over =) (right. like you'd have THAT)

I've been trying to remember this piece we played in orchestra sometime this/last year. There was some sort of fairy dance in it...a movement that was supposed to be this lullaby...except it was really freakish. Our conductor said that it was a creepy lullaby...like "go to sleep little girl you're going to get raped" or something along those lines. The last movement thing is really well known...kinda quick and stuff. I remember the first time we rehearsed it the director dropped his baton and yelled "SAXOPHONE?!?! Who wants a saxophone?! Nobody wants a saxophone!" I guess he didn't pay attention to the instrumentation or something. Whatever the case, we've never needed a sax before and we didn't have one. We had to drag one in from somewhere else.

Anti-Sax League. Woohoo.

Today's Randomness

I have nothing to do today. I feel rather lost. I got some more pictures developed, I'll be uploading them sometime next week or the week after. I need to do some more Christmas shopping. I hate Christmas shopping. I like me shopping. I want to go to AE Outfitters but I don't have a car. Kelly is a moron. I've read more in the past two days than I have in the entire latter half of this quarter. I think I'm going to start working on a redesign for the page. I'm so tired I feel so uninspired. I need to get out more. I have nothing to do and nowhere to go. I'm bored with my own mind. I go through lots of gum. I can finish a pack in two days (one of the big packs). Make that a day and a half. I like Extra Polar Ice (aka UJ gum). I'll quit rambling now. I'm out like I'm out.

Agh. Streakers. Finals. Finals=Streakers. They aren't even genuine buck booty naked streakers like the ones at Santa Cruz (thanks for the pics Leah...=X). They were all in their underwear. Random and I heard the screaming so we took a look out of my window. Great view of an assortment of guys in boxers, briefs, and even thongs. Fascinating. I'm rather tired now.

December 03, 2001

...since my long-ago boyfriend lied and said he couldn't see me anymore because he had family problems, when in reality he had simply ceased liking me. (mars02/13/00)
Ugh ugh ugh (I've got this repetition thing going on don't I?) honesty people honesty...! Guys can sometimes (all the time) really really suck.

Yes, still bitter yet sort of whatever. If that makes sense.

Anyway, I wound up going to commons twice today. No biggie, right? Except both times I went for dinner. Ha. Oh well, so did three other people so it's all good. I have meals to kill.

Anyway, I turned the heater thing up to eighty degrees before I left, so now the room is all sauna-ed out, just the way I like it. Now I can walk around naked and not get piloerections.

Anyway.

Spaz is changing majors so he's going to sell me his barely-used ICS books for a very good price. Thank you Spaz. He gave me advice: don't be lazy. W (I think I'm going to start calling him Hot Cross Buns because he can play Hot Cross Buns on the flute....Hot Buns for short muahahhaha okay so maybe I won't) told me "Don't play counterstrike don't play starcraft don't play video games...." so I'm like Oh...that won't be a problem and then stupid Spaz (yes I just thanked him a few sentences ago but I can still call him stupid because I said so) interjects with "Yeah and don't sign onto AIM." Damn.

I was telling Sar that I wanted to go home really really bad. I mean, I guess I'm okay here but I still want to go home.

You know what I miss? Walking around campus with the distinct feeling of belonging. This is my school and I love it. Yes my ghettolicious high school. I loved it and I felt like I really belonged there. There I had my own little niche and my own identity, while here I'm sorta stuck to the edges. Part of the whole but not quite...you know? I'm still not entirely comfortable, which is a little disconcerting. I still miss the security. Bah.

All the same everything has been a learning experience. My social skills have been forced out. My small talk skills have risen considerably. The number of new people I have met have just helped me determine what kinds of people I like. It also exposed me to a whole new world. I never quite realized how sheltered I was, with my good-kid group of friends, surrounded by the good honors students I had grown to know and love.

Interesting...how last year I walked through campus and really appreciated it for the first time. My freshman year I was racing towards my senior year, eager to leave. Senior year...passed too quickly. Once I learned to appreciate what I had it was almost too late. Thank goodness I had realized it before I had graduated. I would walk to class appreciating it so hard that my stupid heart with its stress-induced palpitations would be just bursting. Yes I am just mushy and sentimental like that.

No more rambling. Time to study. It is finals week, after all.

Speaking of, miss XL just IMed me a beautiful poem. Have a go at it.

Twas the night before finals,
And all through the college,
The students were praying
For last minute knowledge.

I stared at my notes,
But my thoughts were muddy,
My eyes went ablur,
I just couldn't study.

I'd nearly concluded
That life was too cruel,
With futures depending
On grades made in school.

When all of a sudden,
Our door opened wide,
And Patron Saint Put-It-Off
Ambled inside.

What kind of student
Would make such a fuss,
To toss back at teachers
What they tossed at us?

On Cliff Notes! On Crib Notes!
On Last Year's Exams!
On Wingit and Slingit,
And Last Minute Crams!

Your teachers have pegged you,
so just do your best.
Happy Finals to All,
And to All, a good test.

Beautiful ain't it? And to all of you...good luck on finals!

Hello I just had to put this horrible disgusting yet entertaining link up. I found it on Faith's page.

Hint: Do the pop rocks and tapeworm LAST.

(link) Midori | 0 comments | 10:21 AM

I forgot to mention that some people at Nishi had Harry Potter jellybeans. Some were normal in flavors like "Strawberry Jam" and stuff like that, but they also had flavors like Grass, Sardine, Booger, and Vomit. Mm mm good.

I found a great term in my anthro book. Anomie. Well, my standards haven't lowered (I don't think) so the dictionary.com definition doesn't exactly match my anthro book. According to my book, the condition shows up when rapid changes result high stress levels which lead to...anomie. Okay maybe I'm exaggerating, but somehow that's how I feel...sort of alienated.

I'm rather tired. I'll depress you some more tomorrow. Until then....ta ta.

"Your bumness is serviceable, Ike"

I'm amazed that I haven't used that term yet. I found it in The Fountainhead. Wonderful. A new word. Bumness. Bumness. I have lots of bumness.

Today was rather uneventful. Temple cleanup at Nishi. So yes, I spent the morning cleaning the conference room with Morsel, my saluting, African dancing, fellow doughnut vampire friend. Yes, we are doughnut vampires that do "African" dance. Ha. We are an interesting bunch. I also saw Mogy. Her car window was broken =\ Damn people. Damn damn damn.

The holiday season is rather bittersweet. Everything is all...cheery and holiday-y. But everything depresses me. Sometimes I think I think too much for my own good.

Salvation Army had a brass trio in Old Town on Saturday. They were good. Christmas music played on three brass instruments. Nice clear, mellow tone. Good brass sound. I don't think anyone really appreciates the skill of those musicians. Especially since I think they were playing from memory...from what I remember anyway. At least there were no saxes...hahah. I guess I'm in the Anti-Sax League (very 1984ish don't you think?). Up the arse (some Angela's Ashes lingo I thought I'd throw in)

We need to go to J town or something one of these days. Curry House for some good beef curry. Yum yum yum.

Whatever. I'm not especially cheerful. Let me be. Let my people go. Let there be light. I don't even know if that is the exact quote. I didn't read the bible too closely. I didn't even read the entire thing. Just the Genesis. Oh I'm so bad, so bad so bad.

I'm bad I'm bad you know it I'm bad.

Okay, I'm really going to go now...

Happy Fricken Birthday Trace!

I took Trace out to dinner for her birthday. We went to Islands at Paseo Colorado (yes, finally gave in and went to go see it). It was rather cold. We did some fun shopping. I got an atomizer at Sephora. It would be neat if I could put moisturizer in there, but I don't want to try it because it might gum up the spray thingie.

Anyhow, Trace and I wound up sitting on the heated balcony to eat. It was very tempting to throw salt, pepper, and french fries over the side, but me being very mature....I refrained. Ha. (side note: Islands is NOT a good date place if you get a burger. Messy messy messy...)

Went to Starbucks afterward. I tried a gingerbread latte. It was okay, but I think I prefer my usual caramel macchiato. Mm mm good. I saw E there. (AG's sister...if that means anything to you). I haven't seen her in...oh lets see...over a year. Interesting interesting interesting. She was there studying for finals. Wonderful.

I need to stop spending money like what. Did I mention that J Crew is having a sweater sale? 25% off all sweaters. Did I also mention that they're selling swimsuits? Crazy people. I must be crazy as well because I bought one. The cashier was like "I think you're the first person who has bought a swimsuit". Yeah yeah yeah...Kelly is a moron (I'm starting to rather like that word...especially when applied to myself) but I figure a swimsuit will keep. Ah well.

This is Kelly the Moron signing off. Ta ta and see you next time.
