Errrr YEAH

I've been really crappy about updating. In fact, the last time I updated was an automated update that I created maybe three months ago (and didn't even notice until now).

So...

- On Saturday I totally party-fouled at a wedding reception. It was my first glass of wine and I spilled half of it all over the bar before I'd even gotten a chance to take a sip.
- On Sunday I got to see April!

---

This morning VV was asking me about the song Gold Digger and I was like "It's from around 2005...I think it came out around the same time as Ray." and there was a brief pause and I was like "RAY THE MOVIE I MEANT THE MOVIE." and VV just laughed at me. Because we do know a Ray. Ahem.

Anyway. Happy Monday errone. Better updates coming up later.

Schooolgirl

I've been obsessed with planning a trip to Hawaii early next year. I'm planning on dragging VV with me since he's never been. He doesn't seem to share my enthusiasm but I'm lure him in with promises of chili rice.

Oh, and I totally woke up with a gross pimple this morning. I blame it on me being hormonal, though. I guess there's nothing that's going to stop my PMS breakouts. Except maybe menopause.

Long time no blog (and happy birthday Damon!)

So a long time ago on Father's Day I greeted my then-boyfriend by putting his hand on my stomach and saying "Happy father's day" and he got this horrified look on his face and then after realizing I was messing with him he kind of flipped out a bit yelling "DON'T SAY STUFF LIKE THAT" and it was all really funny because we weren't even sleeping together. So I tried the same thing with VV last night when I got home on Sunday. He was already sleeping but sort of woke up when I climbed into bed, so I repeated the whole schtick and put his hand on my stomach and said "Happy father's day" and he just said "Happy father's day!" and snuggled up next to me. I tried it again, this time placing his hand square on my stomach and said "I said HAPPY FATHER'S DAY" to which he responded by rolling onto his stomach and going to sleep.

I've been using the oil cleansing method for the past week or so and I think it actually does kind of work. Since I've started using it, I've grown two bad pimples. One on my scalp and one on the inside of my nose (WTF). It's like they all ran for cover to escape my jojoba/castor oil concoction.

Anyway, happy dad's day and happy birthday to Damon, who will always be older than me :D

WELCOME TO MY HEAD, BITCHES

Flickring takes up a lot of time and energy that would otherwise be allocated towards blogging. Hot damn.

---

Anyway, I think I totally creeped out one of VV's neighbors yesterday. I stopped my car at a three-way intersection and kind of stared for a while at the curb ahead of me, looking to see if there were any parking spaces available. After a few seconds I noticed a guy that was crossing the street and carrying his kid had stopped just short of the curb to stare at me, probably thinking I had stopped in the middle of the street to stare at him (which I was NOT doing) and now he probably thinks I'm some creepy stalker (which maybe I am but I prefer to do all of my stalking on the internet and not in the middle of the street (unless I'm using the internet in the middle of the street. Which I wasn't) thankyouverymuch) and I hope I don't run into him again but I probably will. CRAP.

---

So there was this song I liked but could not find the name or artist of for the longest time. My usual MO for this is to remember a handful of lyrics and google them, but I couldn't understand a goddamn thing they were saying so that didn't work. So last summer I sat myself down and went to YouTube and skimmed through every 90's dance mix I could find until I found one with a snippet of the song I was looking for. I then read through all the comments until I found one that identified the song and then cross-checked it by looking for that song on YouTube AND I TOTALLY DID IT! Even VV was impressed.

Less that one year later Pitbull samples it in Hotel Room Service, which means that if I'd waited one year all I'd have to do is go to the Hotel Room Service wiki page and BAM there it be. DAMMIT.

Anyway, some lady called into a radio station yesterday evening asking "LIKE OMG WHAT IS THAT SONG THEY USE IN THAT PITBULL SONG?!?" and I was like "DAMN LADY HAVE YOU NOT HEARD OF THE INTERNETS" cause seriously you don't have to call into a radio station to figure that shit out.

---

It took me a while to understand the concept of wiping "back to front" vs "front to back" because it took me a while to understand the concept of someone using using just one wad of toilet paper to do their business. Yes, I use a LOT of toilet paper. My ass is a tree-killer.

---

I totally overuse the word awesome. And totally.

My head doesn't work plz help

Updates here are going to be pretty utter crapness (see that didn't even make sense) because I'm pretty sure I'm going to be Flickring my ass off for the next week or possibly more...

So a few photos from the trip are already up. It's probably best to view them here because it's all in order!

Still need to respond to comments and such. Will do so eventually :P

STUFF ABOUT ME THAT YOU SHOULD REALLY BE INTERESTED IN

my hair isn't quite that light in real life

So VV is at some bachelor party dinner (just a plain ol' steak dinner at Mastro's) tonight which I was obviously not invited to so I'm at the house alone right now. I was intending to do something somewhat productive like unpacking or sorting out my photos (nearly 3,000 I think but over half of them are probably duplicates) but instead am kind of contemplating consuming the bottle of wine that's in the fridge while playing the Sims until the wee hours. It's a good thing I'm a girl because I'm sure that kind of behavior in a guy would render him single for the rest of his days.

However, before I get started on that I'm going to do this survey thing I was tagged for by miss Stephanie over at That Girl is Hoisin whilst eating cottage cheese straight out of the container. I am so cool.

what is your current obsession?
Trying to figure out how I want use brown butter. Unfortunately I've made it a goal to eat especially healthy for the next few weeks so any delicious beurre noisette recipes will have to wait.

what is your weirdest obsesson?
My weirdest current obession is probably my hair dryer. It dries my hair and makes pretty waves!

Starbucks or Peet's?
I don't know if I've ever had anything from Peet's and if I have I obviously don't remember it so I'll have to say Starbucks.

what's for dinner?
So far? Sliced tomato w/ lots of pepper, a little bit of salt and a drizzle of olive oil and now cottage cheese. I'll probably end up eating a peach later tonight and possibly a good portion of the bottle of chardonnay that's hanging out in the fridge.

what would you eat for your last meal?
Um, everything? Haha.

what was the last thing you bought?
Groceries. How dull.

what are you listening to right now?
Hum of the refrigerator. Faint hum of something else I can't identify.

what is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia, the cinnamon ice cream at French 75, cookies and cream, depends on my mood.

what do you think of the person(s) who tagged you?
Gorgeous girl who always seems to have perfect eye makeup. How do you do it?!

if you could go anywhere in the world for the next hour, where would you go?
Venice or Mykonos! I'm totally in love with those places now.

which language do you want to learn?
I've always wanted to learn Japanese but there are times I'm kind of glad I don't. It's satisfying to tell someone who thinks they can impress me with their Japanese that I can't speak it. I'm such a bitch :)

what's your favorite quote (for now)?
WTF MATE?

what is your favorite colour?
Possibly gray. At least that's what a sales associate at Urban Outfitters said when he was ringing up my purchase.

what is your favorite piece of clothing in your own wardrobe?
Little cardigans, especially this one which totally saved my ass during the first week of the cruise (FUCK YOU VERY MUCH, AMERICAN AIRLINES).

what is your dream job?
Taking pictures! I already do it obsessively, it would be nice to get paid for it.

what is your worst habit?
There are so many...! I suppose the worst would be my tendency to take things out and not put them away. I get distracted easily. Either that or my french fry habit. My thighs and lower belly (amongst other body parts) agree.

if you had £100 now, what would you spend it on?
What is that, like $150ish? If I had $150 that I had to spend on some sort of frivolous whatever right now I'd probably pick a couple things off of my wishlist @ Anthropologie. Or Asos. Or Topshop. Or Endless. I think I have issues with online shopping.

do you admire any one's style?
Any of the fashion blogs on my link list!

describe your personal style?
Inconsistent.

what are you going to do after this?
Drink myself into a coma Cut up a peach. I hope they're ripe. I have no idea how to choose fruit at the grocery store.

what are your favourite movies?
!!! Kill Bill Vol. 1, Visitor Q, He Loves Me/He Loves Me Not, Mean Girls, Y Tu Mama Tambien, SO MUCH MORE but I'm totally blanking. My head is still mush.

what is your favorite fruit?
Pineapple, sweet strawberries, avocado, icy cold ripe cantaloupe.

what inspires you?
Beautiful photos!

your favorite book?
Rediscovering my love for Lois-Ann Yamanaka and Banana Yoshimoto. Where did all of my books go?

do you collect something?
I don't think I collect anything for the sake of collecting, but I sure have a hell of a lot of eyeshadow.

what is your favorite smell?
L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme which I spray on myself every time I go to Sephora. I'd totally start using it as my own signature fragrance (even though it's for men) but VV already wears it and I think that might get weird.

what are you most proud of?
Living on my own, hands down. Even though I don't really anymore.

what are 5 beauty products you couldn't live without?
I think the only things I'd actually go crazy without would be a good lip balm and a good lotion. I guess the other three things might be eyeshadow, eyeliner, and primer?

cats or dogs?
I'm allergic to cats. They make my face want to die.

And now I'm going to tag some IRL friends that need to update more often. And because I don't have 8 friends, let alone 8 friends with blogs (everyone seems to have given them up :(), I'm going to tag three. And they're all going to do it because they should feel very special.

- Hollie

K so I lost steam

I meant to have a new update scheduled for every day of my trip but it didn't happen SORRY DUDES. But hey, I did decent. In fact I think I "updated" more often when I was gone than when I'm actually here.

Anyway, with any luck (or if you hate me, by some cruel twist of fate) I'll be coming home tomorrow. So fresh updates and lots of Euro pictures will ensue! Although, knowing me I won't start posting them until August. Whatever.

Okay gotta finish packing because it's actually May 26th today and not the 9th. I'm a liar teehee.

1/2 BBQ

Everyone works hard while I dance around with a beer. Pretty typical.

Leanne and Lina were wanting for a picnic on Memorial Day, but they settled for a "1/2 bbq" which ended up being pretty awesome in itself. On that day they grilled turkey burgers, I realized that I can still ride a bicycle (turns out that riding a bike is like riding a bike!), I drank lots of beer and practiced panning with my camera. All in all, great success!

Round and round

Shadowy lady

My thighs are huge and I bet they're getting even bigger as you read this since I'll probably be eating myself into a coma on the cruise.

I rock socks

So we were leaving the office and I commented on how nice the light was in the foyer of the building and how great it'd be for portraits. So VV being the good boyfriend he is volunteered...

...the Korean. Ahem. Anyway.

I asked the Korean to sit by the wall so he went and sat few inches in front of the wall all cross-legged and straight-backed and looking like he was a second grader ready for storytime. I then suggested that he slouch against the wall a bit and he obliged by stretching out into a long, exaggerated slump that made it clear that he was making a mockery of my direction. I was about to yell at him and then I remembered that he was doing me a favor so I didn't because I'm a nice person. Anyway, some of the photos actually turned out kind of awesome-looking...so...thanks Korean!

Left this second photo unprocessed so you can see how nice the light was.

Little bit slow. No pun intended.

You know how a long time ago I said that I found a carrot that looked like a shellless snail slug and that I'd post a better picture of it later but I never did and you probably forgot all about that post because it's been so long? Well I finally got around to it. Yay!

Couple Quiz

Jacked this from a Flickr friend since I needed content for my scheduled posts :)

What are your middle names?
Midori/*** (sorry his real name doesn't get posted :))

How long have you been together?
Over two years. I couldn't give you an exact number because we don't really have an "anniversary" really.

How long did you know each other before you started dating?
Again, the "anniversary" is fuzzy so I couldn't give you an exact number, but definitely over 1.5 years.

Who asked who out?
Meh, it just kind of happened.

How old are each of you?
25/30

Whose siblings do/ did you see the most?
I'd saaaay...mine. Only because his brother is in Texas right now.

Do you have any children together?
Nope.

What about pets?
No.

Did you go to the same school?
Umm...we went to the same college, just not at the same time.

Are you from the same hometown?
Haha...not at all!

Who is the smartest?
He is for sure!

Who is the most sensitive?
I'm pretty sure I am.

Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Hard to say. When we eat out together it's usually lunch w/ coworkers.

Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
New York. Well, actually by the time this is posted we'll be on a boat in the Mediterranean. So I guess the Mediterranean?

Who has the worst temper?
I think I get frustrated and snappish way more easily, but when he gets angry he's definitely scarier than I am by far.

Who does the cooking?
Haha...we don't really cook. But if one of us cooks anything it's usually me.

Who is more social?
I'm more introverted than he is I think, but I think I also go out more.

Who is the neat freak?
HIM HIM HIM.

Who is more stubborn?
I think in general he is. When it comes to me I think he's more easygoing, though.

Who wakes up earlier?
Him.

Where was your first date?
Couldn't say! I don't remember :P

Who has the bigger family?
He does by far.

Do you get flowers often?
Never...he knows I don't like flowers, haha.

How do you spend the holidays?
Last year we did Thanksgiving w/ our own respective families. I spent xmas eve with his family (that's when they have the big family get-together) and he spent xmas day with mine. He also spent new years with my family.

Who is more jealous?
Probably me! If it's him, he hides it very well.

Who sleeps more?
Maybe him, but only because he falls asleep so easily.

Who eats more?
I'm pretty sure he does.

Who does/ did the laundry?
Most of the time he puts everything in the washer/dryer and brings the wash up. I usually fold everything.

Who’s better with the computer?
He is.
