Open your eyes
Zeitgeist, the movie
So I was up ridiculously late (for a weeknight, anyway) watching Zeitgeist. It was released some three months ago (?) and appears to have already made its rounds, so yes, I jumped on this one a bit late.
In short, I recommend you watch it.
I'll say that there are a few things about this film that are a bit sketchy. Many of the sources are books/articles/etc. that directly support the points they are trying to prove, meaning it's not original research. The presentation of the film is done in such a way that it manipulates images, quotes, and audio clips to make as much as a impact as possible. I'm not faulting the filmmakers for this, but this might be enough to turn some people off to the entire film.
I still recommend you watch it, though.
I do not recommend you take everything in the film as gospel. I do recommend you see it for what it is...a different perspective. They did their research and drew their own conclusions (they being the filmmakers) and perhaps we should do ours. If anything, this film is telling us that blind faith, whether it be in religion, government, or the media, can be damaging and that maybe we should be thinking for ourselves instead of allowing ourselves to be tubefed (cue Tubefed here...that song was stuck in my head for a good 50% of the film).
Okay. Off my soapbox.
So...if you have time...
Zeitgeist the movie can be accessed here. And when they say movie, they mean movie. It's nearly 2 hours long, so get comfortable.
In other news, my tear duct is all swollen. I think I got makeup in it or something.
